This computer has Windows 10 ver. I have the original Windows 7 retail DVD. My legal version of Windows 10 version has tried two times to update to Windows 10 version and has been unsuccessful.
The text inside the window says: "Windows could not configure one or more components to install Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation. When the version of Windows 10 started to update it said: "Feature Update to Windows 10, Version It has tried to update to the version two times and has failed both times with the same error window.
How can I get help getting by this error window and getting the Windows 10 version on this computer updated to Windows 10 version ? Thank you. This thread is locked. Sorry this didn't help. If an upgrade fails often the operating system returns to the prior working version and generates the logs. Some of the problems could be: problems with drivers, AV, insufficient disk space in partitions, etc.

I don't find a setupmem. I don't see anything that is labeled an error code. If I do find logs I'm not sure how to post them to "one drive" or "drop box" as you suggest. Can the "Update" reinstall Windows 10? When the system tries to update it takes a very long time that seems long enough to completely reinstall Windows 10, but I surmise it doesn't because it still doesn't solve this problem and it returns me to Windows 10 version Can I get help from Microsoft with this Update problem so I can get updated to version ?
Look for any of the files that are on the list and post what you find anything close using the information in this link:. If there is information about the failure then you will better know how to troubleshoot the failure to upgrade. The problem I'm having is a failure to update Windows 10 from version to version I don't find files related to this failure. The worse scenario is that Microsoft constantly upgrades to new version and it is not accessible for PWD!
It is against ADA requirements! Shame of Microsoft developers who still can't changed coding or go back to previous version! As for me, if I would be totally blind as result of it, Microsoft would be responsible. When windows attempts and upgrade and fails there are logs generated that may be useful in the troubleshooting. By default they may be hidden so if file explorer is used the option to click view to display hidden files may be useful.

In reply to A. User's post on November 22, This is an upgrade problem. There are many causes for upgrade failures. They can be troubleshooted by viewing the Panther logs. By default they may be hidden. It takes time to troubleshoot these logs. Many of the entries in the logs are error codes that need to be decoded and deciphered. The error codes are important as this would be the method to start the troubleshooting. Look for: setuperr.

I've got a super fast, 6-month-old laptop, so I feel sorry for anyone on an older, slower machine. Oh, and even more delightfully, it randomly changed which of my monitors is the main monitor, and put my icons on one monitor and the taskbar commands on the other. So I get the joy of losing even more productivity to re-set up my workstation for my workflow.
